Here are our classroom rules and what will be expected of your children in my classroom!
1. Take care of yourself2. Take care of your neighbors3. Take care of our classroom
These three simple rules entail other rules that will be discussed in the classroom with your children. The rules that are implied along with these are...
Take care of yourself
- do your work quietly
- work ahead when you are finished with other assignments or find something to do quietly until the next lesson
- only go to the restroom when the bathroom brick is sitting on your desk Take care of your neighbors
- do not interrupt others/be respectful when others are talking
- work quietly
Take care of our classroom
- pick up after yourselves
-make sure the room is clean after the end of your centers
-be respectful while the teacher is talking
-raise your hand to speak during discussion
I am not a very big rule maker. I would like the the children to feel open and safe in my room. I will enforce these rules to make sure the classroom stays under control but I will hope throughout the year I will not have to take any further action then just reminding them of respectful manners in the classroom. I will have a peace table set up in my room where the children may talk to each other if there is a problem. I will be doing a seminar on this a few weeks into class for the parents to engage in what their child will be learning.
